Music & SoundThe music and sound for Blink were created by Spencer Critchley and Marco D'Ambrosio. Their approach was to combine elements of Indian ragas, blues and processed ambient sounds, such as the wind chimes heard from time to time throughout the film. These elements are used to evoke spiritual questing, fear, anger, tenderness and other themes, and to place them in Gregory Withrow's emotional landscape. Spencer has written music for Warner-Chappell Music, Silicon Graphics, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and others. He is also a producer and consultant on interactive media for Beatnik, Sonicopia and other clients. He lives in Palo Alto, California. Marco is the principal composer at MarcoCo, an audio post production studio in Novato, California. He is the composer of soundtracks for Vampire Hunter D, the Ewoks TV series, and many others. Marco is also a consultant for THX. The distinctive vocal performances in Blink are by Jai Uttal and Mala Ganguly. |
